Cree Nation Bears Hockey Program

The Cree Nation Bears is a hockey development program which participates in the Hockey Abitibi-Temiscamingue (HAT) 'BB' leagues in the U13, U15 and U18 categories. This program is aimed at developing the best available minor hockey players from the Cree Nation (of Quebec) and providing them with the exposure of Elite programs by participating in league play and tournaments throughout the Quebec province.

While the Bears are a long-standing (albeit on and off) hockey program which was established in the mid-1990's, we continue to strive to improve this program in all its elements, by ensuring that the players' development is emphasized both on and off the ice, including their studies. We also do our best to ensure that all our teams partake in the biggest tournaments of the province, such as the International Pee-Wee tournament of Quebec for U13, and the same goes with the U15 and U18 teams.

We aim to become a staple and beacon of developing hockey players that will move on to Elite programs within our region (HAT) or beyond. One of our most recent program graduates, Israel Mianscum, saw himself get invited to the Montreal Canadiens development camp in July 2022. While we do not take credit for him getting that kind of invite, we do take pride in having a player that has played through our program achieve success at the highest possible level.

If you would like more information about our program, please feel free to contact us via email at info@eisra.ca and we will answer any questions and/or concerns you may have regarding our program as best and as promptly as we can. Furthermore, while we do not pretend to have the perfect recipe for success, we also welcome any constructive criticism of our program, so long as it stays within the boundaries of a decent and respectful dialogue.
