First Nations Minor Sports Festivals: Change in Location

Following a careful review of our priorities at EISRA’s recent Board of Directors meeting, we have made the decision to hold our upcoming First Nations Minor Sport Festivals (Broomball, Hockey, and Softball) in Val-d'Or and the surrounding area.   

EISRA’s management team has been in contact with the City of Val-d'Or and neighbouring municipalities to ensure the needs of our participants are prioritized as we move forward. We have proactively secured accommodations for all upcoming Festivals and will continue to monitor the experience of participants at all events as we implement this change. 

The decision to change the location of these events was made with great intention and consideration. By allocating our limited resources as effectively as possible, we can offer exciting, high-quality Festivals while enhancing programs, events, and capacity here at home. We remain committed to providing programs and experiences that promote community health and active living for youth in Eeyou Istchee.  

We look forward to welcoming athletes, families, and community supporters to the First Nations Minor Broomball Festival on December 4-7, 2025. Full registration details for this event will be posted online in the coming days, and teams will be provided with hotel options and priority rates upon registration.
