Announcing the 2026 Eeyou Istchee United Roster!

We were thrilled to welcome more than 110 athletes to this weekend’s tryouts — more than double last year’s attendance. This incredible turnout speaks volumes about the continued growth of elite broomball within the Cree Nation.

Just as importantly, this process reflects the strengthening of female sport pathways, with more young women stepping forward to compete, challenge themselves, and pursue high-performance opportunities. Increasing access, visibility, and participation for female athletes remains a key priority as we continue to build the game across Eeyou Istchee.

This marks an important step forward in developing elite players, supporting long-term athlete development, and inspiring the next generation of girls to stay involved in sport.

Thank you to all athletes, coaches, evaluators, volunteers, and staff for your time, dedication, and commitment throughout the tryout process. Shoutouts to Justin, Austin, Jessie G, Linda, Jessie Lynn, Connor, Paul, Jessica, and Alana.
